The Sussex Kidney Trust was formed in 1967 and to this day is still run by dedicated and completely voluntary committee. All the money donated goes to the purchase of vital equipment for the Renal Units of the Royal Sussex County Hospital Brighton, Worthing and Bexhill.
Since the formation of the Trust, we have been able to purchase over £1.25 Million of equipment for these units and will hopefully soon be on the way to the next million pounds’ worth.
We are indebted to the members of Flower Arranging and Design Sussex Flower Clubs and the many people who support the Sussex Kidney Trust, without whose generosity we would be unable to supply this vital equipment for use at the Hospitals and in patients’ homes.
Please help us to keep up the good work and contact me if you would like further information

The ‘Riva’ Home Dialysis Chair
Over the years, the Sussex Kidney Trust has purchased a great number of special chairs for the Home Dialysis patients use. The one pictured is called a Riva chair and has many different adjustments thus enabling the patient to be extremely comfortable during their treatment; it is also covered in washable material which is essential.
Prior to the Riva chairs, patients had to use a household chair, which was not always very satisfactory nor indeed comfortable. The chairs do not become the property of the patient but are returned to the Hospital when no longer required.
It is not usually possible to show everybody what is purchased for the Renal Unit with all the generous donations we receive, so it was good to be able to show this item.
The Trust purchase these chairs from a firm in Scotland: they are available in other colours and are for general sale, so if anyone would like more details, please contact Jean Plaskett jeanplaskett@aol.com
The Sussex Kidney Trust is a Registered Charity No. 254265, England and Wales
